I recently stayed at The Lazy Tiger Hostel and had a wonderful experience. The best part of the experience like any hostel was the people. Ryan is an excellent host and has done a phenomenal job of bringing the Hostel experience to Asheville. The other guests were very fun, social and welcoming and even some locals came by that were just beautiful people be around. The facilities were clean, the coffee was perfect, fully stocked kitchen with well thought out amenities. The location was great. I was able to go see a local band just a few minutes Uber ride away. I will definitely be staying again.

I started utilizing hostels years ago as a more affordable way to travel, and this hostel has to be one of if not the best that I have yet booked. The host was kind (as was his star canine employee, Chloe), the rooms and common spaces were sparkling clean, and the space was safe. Small details like the paintings on the wall and mirror in the hallway made it feel especially welcoming. Thank you, Ryan!

We had a great stay at the Lazy Tiger! My wife and I enjoyed the private room for 1 night, and then I stayed a couple more nights in the bunk beds and took advantage of the great hiking opportunities in the area. Ryan, Alex and other hosts were warm and welcoming, and Ryan put a lot of thought into making this place cozy, safe and fun to hang out in!

Ryan (owner, host) has truly thought of everything. I stayed in their private room with its own bathroom. The room was clean and cozy, the bed was comfortable, the kitchen was huge, and lounge areas were well thought out. There was excellent local coffee in the morning, an option to purchase local beers, guest “doodles” and an overall sense of light-heartedness and warmth. I was travelling alone. I felt safe, comfortable and really enjoyed meeting those who worked at the hostel as well as guests. Thank you! I’ll be back. Tammy

Just got back from an awesome two days in Asheville staying at The Lazy Tiger. It was great! The space is super clean, safe, and has a great layout and excellent parking. I arrived a bit early and hung out in the cozy common area doing some work before checking in. Wow, that's just about all I can say. Ryan and Chloe (a lovely canine companion) have a lovely space with all the things one needs. Coffee. FREE breakfast! Chill environment with all the details that make a difference. Totally enjoyed chatting with Ryan and the other folks staying at the hostel. I plan to go back in warmer weather to hang out on the deck or in a hammock!

Had such a wonderful stay at the Lazy Tiger. The staff were so kind and welcoming, and Ryan in particular made the experience even better, incredibly warm, friendly, and great to talk to. Chloe the pup always greeted everyone with a wagging tail, which was such a sweet touch. The space was clean, comfortable, and had a great kitchen to cook in. Would absolutely stay again!

I stayed 4 days at the Lazy Tiger. Upon arriving, I immediately felt welcomed and reassured that I could have a restful and rejuvenating experience. My goal was to make friends in their mid 20’s & early 30’s and I was able to leave with some great new friendships. There are so many ways to adventure and explore Asheville from this location. I absolutely loved my experience, thanks to Ryan and a great stay at the Lazy Tiger.

Wonderful rest was had here! The L.T. is right off the highway and parking was easy, on-site. The team there was friendly and the hostel is clean and welcoming. The beds are SO SOFT! The showers are clean and warm. I’ll absolutely be stopping back in on my next visit home. Sweet puppy, Chloe was an added benefit 🩶 Thank you all for what you do.

My friends and I had a great stay at The Lazy Tiger! Very affordable and very nice. We stayed one night in the bunks, and the bunks were super nice! Very comfortable beds, and the bathrooms were super clean and nice with a hot shower. The host gave us great suggestions on where to eat, and he was very kind to us throughout our stay. The hostel had supplies to make breakfast before we went on our big hike of the day. The hostel dog is very nice and greeted us as we came into the hostel. The people staying at the hostel were very nice, too! An added bonus was the bird feeder out on the porch that brought in some cute birds! The location is great, as it's a short drive from downtown, and there is a small forested area across the street where lots of birds were singing as the sun came up. We had a great stay!

The 5 star reviews don’t lie! Lazy tiger was the perfect space to relax and unwind after a busy day. Ryan has created an excellent space and goes above and beyond as the owner. He often engages with his guests and even played scrabble with me and another guest (and broke my undefeated streak😭)! He also has great attention to detail and leaves little fortune cookies on every bed. They also offer great breakfast options (oatmeal, cereal, eggs, milk, toast, fresh brewed coffee, a variety of teas, etc). Lazy tiger is the place to be at in Asheville! The Saturday morning yoga was also a wonderful addition to my stay. We even saw a black bear in the backyard! I would highly recommend staying here if you’re in Asheville, especially as a solo traveler. I want a rematch next time, Ryan!
